CEVO 3  — AMBULANCE COURSE

Course Overview

Why CEVO 3 Now?

Per the Louisiana Department of Health, the state and MCO transportation brokers will no longer accept online Defensive Driving Completion certificates. ALL DRIVERS must complete a defensive driving courses in a classroom/in-person setting.

Provider Compliance

In compliance with LDH Administrative Rule, ACE4EMS’s CEVO course is accredited by the National Safety Council and approved by the Health Standards Section – NEMT Program Manager.

Course Delivery

The CEVO III Ambulance Course promotes critical thinking during high-pressure driving situations and offers defensive driving strategies to avoid collisions.  The course trains emergency vehicle drivers how to navigate through traffic safely in both emergency and non-emergency situations and features videos with ambulance driver simulations followed by group discussions.  

Continuing Education Hours

The CEVO III Ambulance Course participants will receive 6 CEU hours for this course.

Course Content

Throughout the 6-hour course, participants will learn defensive driving techniques to maneuver safely through traffic under severe time constraints and stress. Topics include handling blind spots, cushion of safety, navigating through intersections, proper ways to pass and change lanes, backing and parking safely, avoiding tailgaters and improving driver reaction time.
